Today's Outfit - 05/31

My next post will be the 300, and we have to celebrate.
I’ve tried to take all of my dear Readers to the island but I couldn’t find enough airplanes.
So I’m thinking about another solution.

Once more I broke some rules. And I appeal you, Women of the World to do the same.
Rebel yourself, be creative, and undress yourself… of prejudice of course.
And like the song “You are beautiful, no matter what they say”.

Today it was a French inspired outfit; did you notice the most important detail?

the return of the Rainbow Queen…

Did you miss me??? I know you did, so don’t be shy, tell me. I don’t bite.

I’ve been in a Nokia trip (connecting people) at St Michael Island in my archipelago, in a management seminar.

Later, at 20:00 hours Zulu time, new outfit post.

Today's Outfit - 05/26

Today I’ve chosen a safe look. Black and white.

But in life only a few things are black or white, the vast majority are gray. However in a daily basis, as you know, I try to colour it.

This was the first hot day this year and I didn't feel the need to wear a cardigan.

May 68

May of 68, “the month that changed the world”, is not known by many people.

What was so important after all about that month for that, 40 years later, some people still rejoice with such nostalgia?
It was the first time that, globally, young students came to the streets to demonstrate against established authority: challenged the governments of their countries, war, and the old morality, asking for the reform of the education system, sexual liberty, peace and social changes.
It all started in Paris by the "soixante-huitards" (68's), but it spread in other capitals of the world, even in the East Europe at the time controlled by the Soviet Union, such as Czechoslovakia.
The May of 68 may not have won the battle but won the war in the long term.
It left us ideological and artistic seeds. It is with it that the movements’ pacifists, environmentalists, anti capitalist and anti globalization as we know today were born.

One of the movement’s slogan was “It’s forbidden to forbid”.

Dedicated to my friend the young and lovely olimpiA for her inquisitiveness.

Today's Outfit - 05/24

According to Activa, a portuguese magazine to the portuguese women, beige is one of the colours elected by portuguese women. But regarding the skin tone of the majority of us it’s the colour more unflattering for us.
Question to myself – Is that why I feel all the eyes looking at me when I’m wearing a colourful outfit?

A very weekend-ly look to wish you all a Happy Weekend!

joy

Do you have it? Do you want it? How do you get it?

I have joy in my life. Am I in the minority? I don't think so. If you don't have it, maybe it's because you don't recognize it.

I do know joy when it slaps me in the face.

What about you? Do you have a moment to share, a joyous slice of time?

By the way, what do you do now that brings you joy? Do you have something but don't feel like you're worthy enough to do it? I believe one of our purposes here on earth is the pursuit of joy. If you are not doing anything about bringing joy into your life, what's holding you back?

I'm just asking...

Today's Outfit - 05/23

Continuing my fashion experiments I’ve tried to channel the inspirations of Dries van Noten in mixing patterns.

Well just a little, I don’t take many risks in this.
I think you can’t see it well, but the blouse has thin stripes in white and hot pink and the skirt is a black and white polka dot.

I rearranged the little brooch with a purple silk ribbon to give it a spicy.

polka dot black and white skirt - local store

Today's Outfit - 05/21

I love the combo of black, white and yellow. No colour, all the colours, and a colour.

I put the bangles, but I couldn’t work with them, they were always making noise, so it was just to hang around.

Like Indiana Jones the saga continues…
I think next episode will be “Against the darkness the Rainbow Warrior strikes again”.

what friends are for…

Once upon a time three tomatoes want to cross the street.
The first with very difficulties crossed the street.
When he arrived the other side he turned and shouted – “Come on tomatoes, Come on tomatoes”.
The second one crossed as well and together with the other cried to the third – “Come on tomato, Come on tomato”.
But when the third tomato was crossing the street than came a bus and smashed it.
And the other tomatoes said – “Come on ketchup, Come on ketchup.”

Friends in any circumstances have a kind word for us.

a fable

Today I’m going to tell you a fable that as all the stories begins with…
“Once upon a time…
...there was a firefly who liked to fly among the trees in a jungle. One day, a snake came along and looked at the firefly flying around, working, eating, and shining with its great green light. The snake didn’t have much to do, though, so he decided to chase the firefly around to eat him… First just keeping a watchful eye, then slithering softly along and lastly chasing rapidly around. The firefly flew as fast as those little wings could take him, but eventually grew tired and fell to the ground, where the snake was awaiting. Before the snake could eat him, he pleaded to ask a few questions, to which the snake replied: “Hmm… I don’t usually give this privilege to my food, but go ahead”. The firefly then asked “Am I in your food chain?”, and the snake answered “No…”. “Are you hungry?” mumbled the defenseless little firefly. “Not really, no” said the vicious snake. “Then why do you want to eat me?” cried the firefly, to which the snake stated clearly “Because I just can’t sssstand to ssssee you ssssshine!”"

Be aware of the snakes around you.

PS- I’m not talking about the snakes of Chinese Horoscope.

Today's Outfit - 05/18

A very simple and casual outfit in the weekend’s spirit, that was very sunny.

This is the end of the season. DVDs with all the outfits are available.
Please be attentive for the next season of The Seeker with new outdoors pictures.

We are trying to have a team to go to Everest and Andes Mountains at Venezuela to take the pictures.
But it is being difficult since Chinese government don’t give us the Visa, because they’re afraid that we make Tibet independent. But we also have problems with the Venezuela government, as they are afraid that we take all the oil and sale it in the black market to China or India.
But yet we are trying… our intentions are peaceful. Just take some outfits shots, I mean photographs.

But despite all this I can guaranty that tomorrow we are back with the new season outfit photos.

Namasté

People who know me a bit better also know that one of my favourite words is Namasté, a Sanskrit word.

In a certain context a transaction can only be between equals, between individuals who share some details in common. Hence by performing Namasté before an individual we recognize the divine spark in him. Further by facilitating our partaking of these divine qualities, Namasté makes us aware of these very characteristics residing within our own selves. Simply put, Namasté associates the following:

'The God in me greets the God in you
The Spirit in me meets the same Spirit in you'

In other words, it recognizes the equality of all, and pays honour to the sacredness of all.

There is indeed no sphere of our existence untouched by the symbolic significance of Namasté.

A verbal utterance of the word Namasté practice is equivalent to the chanting of a mantra. The sonority of the sacred sound Namasté is believed to have a quasi-magical value, corresponding to a creative energy change. This transformation is that of aligning oneself in harmony with the vibration of the cosmos itself.
Thus Namasté is in essence equivalent to meditation, which is the language of our spirit in conversation with god, and the perfect vehicle for bathing us in the rivers of divine pleasure.
So I hope that nobody use it in an incautious way.
Namasté

Yesterday night’s outfit – 05/17

Yesterday I had a very busy day, and the night was filled with an evening diner with friends and co-workers.
I wore my formal black suit with a clashing yellow blouse paired with red shoes and a combining varnish handbag.
I had a very pleasant night with lots of laughs, because no play makes people awfully boring!

(When I got home I wasn’t in the mood to take pictures, you know…. ;) )
I made a make-up with my new products I bought at Douglas, and I had some compliments.

Today's Outfit - 05/16

Thanks God it's Friday!!!!

The always elegant Times of Glory with this post reminded me the feminine/masculine trend so well showed in Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, and some others designers’ Spring/Summer 2008 collections.
Thus I decided to wear my new vest I bought at H&M in my trip to mainland, despite it was in the usual slick style.
I hope you'll have a wonderful weekend!!!
