TO – 11/25 – It was Mother’s Birthday…

No, I’m not going to complain about the wind. I just couldn’t get my hair fixed… Will it be always my speech about wind and hair? Maybe, the island can be too windy, so…

Today was Mother’s Birthday.
I went to be a little time with her at my lunch time. Also took her some gifts (a cardigan, a tunic and an earrings pair), and two cakes so a small party could be made at the institution where she is.
She was so happy seeing all that and feeling loved.
As many of you know she's suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Now she knows me, eventually if one day she doesn't, what matter is that I'll be knowing that I'm her daughter and I'm part of her memories…

Just a few words to you, Mother…

If I could give you diamonds for each tear you cried for me.
If I could give you sapphires for each truth you’ve helped me see.
If I could give you rubies for the heartache that you’ve known
If I could give you pearls for the wisdom that you’ve shown.
Then you’ll have a treasure, mother, that would mount up to the skies
That would almost match the sparkle in your kind and loving eyes.
But I have no pearls, no diamonds,
As I’m sure you’re well aware
So I’ll give you gifts more precious
My devotion, love and care.
With all my love on your birthday

How nice that you were able to spend some time with her—that can be difficult with Alzheimer's sufferers.

  22. Seeker,
what a lovely tribute to your mother. I am sorry that you have to suffer with her having Alzheimers. My grandmother had it so I know how painful it is. My mother passed away in March and I miss her so much. This is my first Thanksgiving and Christmas without her and I am very sad about it. So, spend as much time as you can with your mother because she won't always be here.

You look very nice today. Especially nice in the white sweater with the dark skirt. Great contrast. White looks nice on you!
