TO - 12/12 - give me a message and colour my world…

This poem, that I don’t know the author, was read to me today. It touched me so much and I felt it was like a message from the Universe, that I thought to share it with you (do you know we are entering a Cosmic Age of Sharing?).

During the most part of my life I wanted to be exactly as this poem says one can’t be. I try to be perfect in everything I do, I try to help everyone, I try to do many things at the same time.
And now I see that the essential is accepting our limitations and changing ourselves into “a most vital mortal”.

You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.
So, You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others, because no one else is in the contest of "being you".
Then, You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you'll be a most vital mortal.
Believe, That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in all history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

  1. The poem is so great and so true. It's just a shame it takes age to learn most of these things. I wish i knew them at 20!

Your outfit is fabulous. You mix colors so well!

  4. Lindo o vestido!
Several years ago, e super atual!
Ainda tenho que dizer que adorei o título: give me a message and colour my world!
Você e eu colorimos nossos mundos!
    Isso é muito bom!
    Beijos, querida!
    Fique bem!
    Smiles!
    Namastê
    Beijo.

  5. That mustard cardigan is so strong, and goes very well with the plaid dress. I doubt I'd have the guts to dress so boldly!

  18. Hi,

you know, sometimes we write what we need to listen for, and read it out loud to hear what we would like to hear, and I felt all of those emotional shifts as I read this meditation.

"You have to learn not to compete with others, because no one else is in the contest of "being you"."

That was powerfull, because growing up I was raised to compete and to think that everything happens for a reason, and well, Type A personality traits.

Thank you for sharing this with us darling...kisses
