TO – 04/30 – almost all the pieces are new…

Yes, almost all the pieces I’m wearing today are of the new collections for S/S.

When I was writing the word “new” I remembered those products’ advertises that say “New and Improved”.
How can this be possible? If something is new, how is already improved, and if something is improved how can it be new?????

Today I’m going to confess myself and admit that this time I’m not satisfied with just the things I bought on my trip to mainland.
You know that usually when I return from my trips I don’t want to see stores, I feel that I have everything I need and want and I just buy something here, if it’s something that I really fall in love and become obsessed.
Well, but you all also know the story, so I’m not telling you all again, but just saying that I need a few more pieces. I’m not feeling fulfilled, my desire for shopping still remains, which is a big problem.
Hmmm… problem solved… I’m seeing what our Mango, our store that has Vero Moda, and United Colors of Benetton have… also I think my privileged contact’s shoes store has something interesting.

Maybe I might end with new, but not improved, pieces…. LOL

Tonight I’m going out with Hubby, we’re going to have dinner with some colleagues. Tomorrow it’s an holiday, hurray, this time doesn’t fall on Saturday, and the weekend is bigger.

Have fun… I’m sure I will!!!!

TO – 04/28 – leopard and red… foolish the one that doesn’t learn from mistakes…

After my yesterday’s provocative post, I would like to talk about mistakes in a not so dramatic and theatrical way, but just a talk about this issue.

If we go through life afraid to make a mistake, we’ll spend most of our life doing absolutely nothing. There is no harm in making mistakes, it is an essential part of going forward. The more responsibility we take on, the more likely we will make mistakes.
If we feel the need to avoid mistakes at all costs, it becomes a psychological barrier to taking risks.
If we learn from mistakes correctly, they can propel will us forward.

We can only learn from a mistake after we admit we’ve made it. As soon as we start blaming other people (or the universe itself) we distance ourselves from any possible lesson. But if we courageously stand up and honestly say “This is my mistake and I am responsible” the possibilities for learning will move towards us. Admission of a mistake, even if only privately to ourselves, makes learning possible by moving the focus away from blame assignment and towards understanding. Wise people admit their mistakes easily. They know progress accelerates when they do.
We should avoid feeling guilty about making mistakes, but at the same time, we should make a resolution to learn from them. If we repeat the same mistakes, it shows we aren’t making progress and causes repeated suffering.

Unfortunately, it is our natural instinct to try to justify our actions. When we make a mistake, the initial reaction is to blame someone else. We justify mistakes for the sake of our ego. Sometimes it is best to say, very simply — yes, I made a mistake.

From our own mistakes we can gain wisdom and accelerate self-improvement. Mistakes, because of their relationship with risk taking, are essential to success. The important thing is to view mistakes as a useful stepping stone to a higher reality.

Well, I’m leaving all philosophical questions about mistakes up to you. One person’s pleasure is another person’s mistake: decide for yourself. Maybe you enjoy stabbing your neighbour’s cat with a banana, who knows. We all do things we know are bad in the long term, but are oh so good in the short term…

So the most important lesson in all of mistake making is to trust that while mistakes are inevitable, if we can learn from the current one, we’ll also be able to learn from future ones. No matter when happens tomorrow we’ll be able to get value from it, and apply it to the day after that. Progress won’t be a straight line but if we keep learning we will have more successes than failures, and the mistakes we make along the way will help us get to where we want to go.

Brown is a colour that is not easy for me, don’t know why, but I always loved to pair red with brown and I think leopard print also goes very well with it.

TO – 04/27 – romantic rocky… old mistakes are alive… or not…

One cannot undo what has been done. This might be the most terrible thing on planet Earth. The opportunity of repair is considerably limited. The will of having things mended is even minor.

In a way, it's a marvel that we live, love, laugh and work in spite of our incapability to fix our incorrect activities. We always manage to live on our mistakes and uncover ways to avoid their consequences. Whenever we would want ourselves to feel renovated, we cheerfully observe that "a past is a past" consequently we're better establishing our contentment on current issues.
Both psychology and religion teach us how to live with our mistakes. A crisis of awareness is always welcomed and encouraged. It makes us feel powerless and kind. Once an error is established and clarified, we're appropriate for a superior future (and new errors.)
But the foolish acts I've once made will never revolve sane.

And the people of Burma will not rise from the dead.

Today I took the advice of Lizzy Frizzfrock and started dressing with a red piece, but I guess I wasn’t in the right mood…

TO – 04/26 – the scarf and a necklace… NOT again… but “This Blog Has a Heart”...

Once again “Searching the Inner Me…” has been honoured with an award that putted a big smile on my face, because I really appreciated it and has a great meaning to me.
The lovely and insightful Sallymandy from The Blue Kimono has presented me with the “This Blog Has a Heart” award! It made me happy, moreover the nice and kind words used by Sallymandy to whom I thank a lot.

This time I’m going to pass it with great pleasure to three men (sorry ladies…) that, for me, are so brave, enough to show that they have a Heart.

O Viajante from Café e Bolos;
Jesse from The Main Art Blog at 1968;
Vicen from Maldita Moda and Look 10.

So please post this award if you like and also pass it on if you feel like it.

Well it’s true, it might seem that I’m with lack of imagination, but no, in fact this time it was intended.
But when I like a concept I tend to wear it often and I have to make an effort to stop it.
And I liked the necklace over the scarf…

TO – 04/24 & 04/25 – how do you face transitional weather… and I hate holidays on a Saturday…

Transitional weather, as we can call it because isn’t yet Spring’s and isn’t also Winter’s, can be faced in two ways.
As something that sucks, very nerve racking, especially on the land of the “four seasons in a day”, or as a great challenge on layered looks. When well combine there are items that give you body temperature adjustment. You can wear almost everything when it’s cold, take of the warmers to go indoors and even take off something else, like a cardigan if you feel overheating.

I think that it’s a great time to innovate and be creative, but I have to be honest, sometimes it really sucks… Yesterday I was completely uninspired about what to wear.

How about you? How do you deal with this kind of weather?

Today it’s a holiday, we are celebrating the ‘red carnation revolution.’ It’s a day that should be full of significance. Last year I’ve talked about it here, if you’re interested.
However I still have the same question “are the ideals of the red carnation revolution done?”.

But I just hate that it’s a Saturday… we didn’t work anyway…

TO – 04/23 – investment pieces…

…like blazers.
Yes, I think the blazer is one of the most classic and versatile pieces of a woman's wardrobe and can be worn with everything, and great for the transition weather, not to mention that is one ideal piece for a professional look.
So, when I saw a store with “middle-season promotions” on blazers I couldn’t miss that bargain and bought three, a beige and a gray both with a classic style and another not so classic on orange with some tiny flowers.
Today I decided to wear the gray one.

On another note, I also saw at Mango some T-shirts of the mini collection of shirts in solidarity with those who raise funds for the "Instituto Paulo Coelho", with the Brazilian author’s most famous phrases.

“We are all masters of our own destinies” is one I like best.

I think it’s worth at least to take a look…

Again my hair looks a mess with the wind. Oh and what do you think of my new sunglasses…? ;)

TO - 04/22 - showing a new item…

…that is my statement necklace!!!

It’s handmade, a unique design, made of black cotton with three almost white roses, and everybody look at it.

I bought it at a little boutique in Alcobaça, a city where one of my sisters-in-law lives on mainland.

I hope everybody had a nice Earth Day, especially important to those who love nature and want to see our environment improved and saved for future generations to enjoy.

Here the weather didn’t help. We had that little rain, which started in the morning and still is with us.
But when I left home I supposed it was going to do a great day.
Well I guess it’s April’s showers…

TO – 04/21 – take a look at the bright side…

Do bright colours lift a mood…? I think so.
So today I went to work with my new green pencil skirt, bought at mainland, added to some other colourful pieces.
And imagine, I think it worked, because all day I had this feeling that I needed to laugh.
I sooooooooo love to laugh!!!!

It was a bit windy which didn’t help when taking the shots, so my hair looks like a mess. Looking to myself I wonder if I put some weight… note to myself, remember to jump to the weight scale.

Currently I’m reading two kinds of writing, the book “Many Lives, Many Masters” from Dr Brian L. Weiss and also May's edition of Portuguese Vogue.
Weird combination don’t you think?

Oh and don’t forget, tomorrow is Earth Day. Just think what are you doing for your home planet…

home again… still nerve-racking… but…

For those who had read some of my posts after a trip to mainland this is actually different.
But this trip wasn’t like the others. There were no shopping expeditions, so “shopping season” didn’t take place. No funny outing, so my expectations weren’t filled.
I’ve told you that I was going also to help Hubby with some issues concerning his mother.
I must tell you that everything I did I do NOT regret it. I did it with love, kindness and caring. I do NOT complain about what I did.
But it was such a pain stressfully situation…
And if you recall I’ve talked about my integral tiredness feeling. So my expectations were that I was going to clean my mind, to get some strength to handle my lethal opponent and be free to defeat the world.
That didn’t happen!
So now I’m trying to embrace all, and move on.
I hope the Universe will help me!

Hmmm… but let me tell you some gossip… before we took the plain, I still managed to go to a shopping centre, did a marathon and bought some things…
Yeah!!!!
I will show them to you in time.

I want to thank all my dearest blogging friends for your words of support and friendship that have been sending to me. You’re really the best!!!!
I’m getting back, a bit slowly, but I am and will be here and at your blogs.
Thank you!
