TO - 06/30 - there's something significant and something bizarre about us all… why are “harem” pants so intriguing?

There are no ordinary-looking persons.
There's somewhat significant and somewhat bizarre about us all. Occasionally I distinguish the long for or the loathing in the finest character; as a matter of fact, the disgusting purposes are more easily perceptible on refined faces.
When a lovely thought creeps out one's mind, you can see a woman or man transformed in a unbelievable, unearthly being walking the streets as if nothing happened, buying shoes, drinking coffee or cashing money and all environs are abruptly bursting into light as if leaving a tunnel.
There are such amazing differences stamped on people's faces that one has to believe in heaven and hell by only strolling through town saying hi, bye and thank you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve been very busy (as always lol) and, Hubby and I, we have been painting our indoors.
Well if you’ll need someone to paint your home I will not recommend those two (lol), some accidents can happen and tint can be splashed…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve received some awards that I’ve to mention and pass them on. I really appreciate them and thank all my blogging friends for thinking of me. I will try to do it the sooner as I can.

I want to thank all the comments on my previous post; they were all very supportive and kind. Thank you so much!

regaining creativity…

Since I’ve started my blog, among other things, I’ve tried to show you my daily outfits. (What I actually wear, I don’t do productions)
Outfits that I’ve made an effort to be creative, colourful, and innovative with some smartness and style. Maybe I didn’t always succeed, but that doesn’t mean I stopped trying.
Now I’m worried about the way I’m feeling because I would like to do some colourful, some artistic or some fashion forward outfits but it seems my creativity simply disappeared.
As I’ve told you before I’m a mood dresser, so I just can’t plan in advance what to wear for instance for the next week. I must sense it every day.
But now it seems all I want to do is throw something “safe” and call it a day.
Every morning is a pain just because I have to dress myself, and pulling together a stylish, charming look is a challenge.
I look into my closet and notice that I’m a lucky girl and despite I might need some more things, I have many clothes and my real problem is how to mix them.

However I’ll continue to post about my daily wear, hoping that like many people who faced similar situations with creativity I’ll be able to over come it.

TO - 06/25 & 06/26 - the feeling of disappointing others... Rest In Peace, Michael Jackson...

June, 25 outfit

June, 26 outfit

I’ve been very busy and I need holidays. I’m feeling depressed and on a style standoff.
Using up the feeling of guilt is the most unbearable guilt.
It is people having high hopes from us.
We should use more often the right of disappointing others and less often the right of disappointing ourselves.

TO - 06/24 - it was Saint John’s holiday… with the city well dressed, I looked casual…

The city is dressing its best’s clothes to live the biggest festivities of the year, the Sanjoaninas, which are the Saint John’s Festival that ends Sunday.

“Au contraire”, I chose to wear, on this city holiday, a very simple and casual look to go for a walk through the places where the party is pulsing.

I think you’ll understand why today my post is short of words… ;)

On another note I must confess that I’ve always been a blazer woman, but I also liked a lot my cardigans which you can see by last summer outfits. Well, poor cardigans that are relegate this year by my complete addiction to blazers.
Must give them more importance…

TO – 06/23 – nautical vibes with a D&G inspiration… blue as a cold colour and its combinations…

Today I looked to one of the tops Hubby brought me and it came to my mind this D&G look from theirs S/S 2009 collection.

So inspired in that I wore this nautical vibes outfit.
Red, blue and white are the tree colours more associated to nautical looks.

Thus, today I’m talking about “blue”, the colder colour. Once again I want to make clear that it’s just my opinion and I’m not an expert, I’m just an instinctive.

Cool colours tend to have a calming effect. At one end of the spectrum they are cold, impersonal, antiseptic colours. At the other end the cool colours are comforting and nurturing. Almost everyone likes some shade of the colour blue.
In many diverse cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away.
Blue conveys importance and confidence without being sombre or sinister, hence the blue power suit of the corporate world and the blue uniforms of police officers. Long considered a corporate colour, blue, especially darker blue, is associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism.
Now some of my colour combinations with blue: red; orange; gold or bright yellow; maize; straw colour; salmon; crimson; pink; lilac; green; gray; chestnut; chocolate; brown; tans or beige; bright white; black; orange and black; scarlet and purple or lilac; orange and green; green and gray; brown crimson and yellow or gold; orange black and white; dark blue with metallic silver accents for an elegantly rich appearance.
(Keep in mind that the shades are very important)
Wear blue when you want to exude an air of calm authority, you need to be more organized or you want to communicate something important.
Do not wear blue when you are feeling isolated or lonely, you feel depressed or you are being too critical of both yourself and others.
Feeling blue or getting the blues represents the extremes of the calm feelings associated with blue, i.e. sadness or depression, lack of strong (violent) emotion.

Tomorrow is Saint John’s Day, the city holiday. Hope it will do a good weather…

TO – 06/20 – I’m a mood dresser… about colours… combining orange… with MiniMe…

I'm very much a mood dresser, how about you?

Mood dressers are people who are in-tune with their emotions and dress accordingly. Do you feel pink today? Or, do you feel blue?

Colours are more than a combination of red and blue or yellow and black. They are non-verbal communication. Colours have symbolism and colour meanings that go beyond ink. Sometimes colours create a physical reaction and at other times it is a cultural reaction. When colours are combined each influence reflects off the other. Wearing green with red puts a different slant on the meanings. As green means stop and red means go, these colours together can signify a difficult decision, usually involving staying or leaving a situation. Wearing these colours can aid in the decision making process through the vibratory influence of each colour.
In addition to understanding colour meanings, it helps with mixing and matching colours to know the relationship of adjacent, complementary, and clashing colours. We also know that many times it’s all about the tones.

When wearing vibrant colours, I seem to feel better about how I look although I am a black and white lover, I seem to go bringing out the artsy part of me!

Yesterday I was reading an article about colours and the way to combine them. I felt that something was missing… the article only referred what I call “safe colour combinations”, for instance they suggested that green should be paired only with “shades of green”, “gray”, “black” and “white”.
I felt that so reducer, what about “brown”, “yellow”, some “blue shades”, “purple”, “orange”…

So I thought that I’m going to do a series of posts talking about colours in my point of view and some colours combination that in my opinion can work well.
Remember it’s just my opinion and I’m not an expert, I’m just an instinctive.

Since my today’s outfit screams “orange”, I’m beginning with it.
Orange is vibrant. It's a combination of red and yellow so it shares some common attributes with those colours. It denotes energy, warmth, and the sun. But orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow.
If you want to get noticed without screaming, consider the colour orange, it demands attention. The softer oranges such as peach are even friendlier, more peaceful.

Some colour combinations with orange I like – blue; olive; violet; chestnut; deep brown; gray; crimson and green; crimson and blue; purple and scarlet; blue, scarlet and green; violet, scarlet, white and green; (always open to others…).

Orange is often synonymous with autumn yet the brighter oranges are a summer colour. Use shades of orange for seasonal-themed fall or summer materials.
Orange is mentally stimulating as well as sociable. Use it to get people thinking or to get them talking.

internet connection update…

My dear readers and blogging friends,
Finally my internet connection at home is repaired.

Now I’m facing blogging guilt as I’m so behind on checking your posts and blogging.
I can’t promise to see all your posts, but I’ll try to check all your blogs.
Besides this week, my city has the festivities of Saint John, the archipelago greatest non religious feasts, which shorts even more my time.

Take care, all the best for all.

TO - 06/15 - corporate dress… business dress codes… today I got a photographer…

First impressions count. If your goal to getting dressed for work is to project a professional, competent image, regardless of your employment level or career path be sure that getting dressed for the office doesn't mean leaving your personal style behind.

The dress code has nothing to do with fashion. It is about making workers feel more confident, more professional.
However, despite most companies don't have specific guidelines about what to wear to work, some organizations encourage employees to dress according to some “Business Dress Codes*, which are:
Formal Business Attire- For women this constitutes business suits (a matched skirt and jackets) and, in most workplaces, pantsuits (matched pants and blazer). Closed-toe shoes (no sandals), blouses, hose and conservative hair, jewellery and makeup are expected.
Corporate Casual Looks-Working women have interpreted this to mean everything from shorts to sundresses, but in its most literal sense it means "smart business." Dressy pants and a blouse, sleek jersey knits and skirts and tops are all examples of corporate casual. Denim, T-shirts and flip-flops are only acceptable in the most casual of work environments.
Casual Friday - Depending on the business, this can mean anything from corporate casual instead of formal looks or "Wear your company logo polo and jeans." If in doubt, ask a superior. One of the best clues to company dress codes is what your boss wears.

Colour plays a big part in professional image. Traditional career colours include red (aggressive), navy (trustworthy), gray (conservative) and black (chic). Most of these colours work well in pantsuits, skirts and shoes and mix back with softer feminine colours that are appropriate like ice blue, lilac, soft pink and ivory.

*information found on about.com: Women's Fashion

Fortunately at my office we don’t have a dress code, so we can play with corporate look as with casual look. Or also mix them… which is great, because in a way the sky can be the limit…. Well with some limits…. lol

I asked my friend T. to do me some shots but, forgive T., you don’t do photography so well as my personal photographer. Hmmm…. telling this... I guess tomorrow she wouldn’t do it… lol

TO – 06/13 – waiting for a Patrick Demarchelier message… my photographer is leaving for a week…

I haven’t a good relationship with tripods or self timers’ cameras. We don’t connect well.
That’s why I have to have my personal photographer. But he’s leaving on a trip to mainland for a week to do a professional training.

I’ve contacted Patrick Demarchelier, as you know his interest to do my photos meanwhile, but I didn’t get any answer for now.
So I don’t know if I’ll be able to post some pictures of my next days’ outfits, unless I can “trick” my friend T….. lol
We’ll see… however I have lots of “homework” to do with awards and tags, maybe I should take the time to do that.

Today was sunny and the temperature increased a bit, making some courageous people go to the beach, as you can see in some of my pictures’ background.
No, I’m not that courageous…

Hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend!

TO – 06/12 - protect the others' need of escaping from us… I don’t want to be a “beige” lady…

When it comes to our closest people, we have a tendency to deny their right of being alone.
We surely understand OUR need for both togetherness and isolation, but we constantly undervalue THEIR need for privacy though amplifying their wish for loving proximity.
The thing is that we at all times wait for others to give more than we could ever give back to them.
We give tedious love. We look ahead to elevated love.
It looks normal for us only to half-believe in the words we say; still, we wait for the others' friendly words to be clear-glass and entirely accurate.
The wanders of our soul are comprehensible; if their soul happens to bend through its inner jungles, we feel hurt.
We should learn to protect the others' need of escaping from us.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I received my Vogue today… I already cross read it. But I wish I could have a way to get some foreign Vogue’s…
Am I turning a “beige” lady????
