blogs with a Golden Heart…

I want apologize all my dear readers and blogging friends (it seems that these days it’s all I know to do) for not posting regularly and also not checking your blogs.
But these haven’t been easy days and when we must set priorities, I think that all of you also think like this, real life comes first.
Last weekend I’ve been sick, so blogging wasn’t my cup of tea.
Now, it’s my mother that is sick. As you know she has Alzheimer’s disease, but it’s not of her illness, it’s something that the doctor haven’t find yet and that makes her not breathing without oxygen. It can be many things and I’m very worried.

I want to thank all of you that despite my lack of posting still come to my blog, checking it.

I also want to thank to O Viajante from Café e Bolos for given me the “Prémio Blog Coração de Ouro” – Golden Heart Blog Award.
You’re the one that has a big and true golden heart.

I think all the editors of the blogs that are in my blog roll and my dear followers deserve this award, because they’re hearty people so supportive with me, but I would like to highlight some.

So that’s with great pleasure that I pass it to these blogs

So please post this award if you like and also pass it on if you feel like it.

Take care all you!! And forget me NOT!!! I’ll be back!!!!

I love my white summer cardi...

...so I guess I’m going to wear it this summer until exhaustion.

Why I love it, I really don’t know, but it gives me some feelings of elegance, of sexiness.
Maybe it’s the shape, the texture…

Do you have any piece that makes you feel really great?

blue skinny pants - Vero Moda (F/W 2008)
orange tank - Zara

a black and white summer outfit…. but what about Fall….

To start with I want to thank you all for the great welcome back I received. You’re the best and have the ability to make one feels liked. Thank you so much!!!

Well it’s summer and normally summer means bright colours, don’t you think?
But a black and white outfit sometimes is a good change even for a person like me that is known for always put a bit of colour on the looks.
But if you look closely you can see that it’s not totally black and white… lol… I have my red sunglasses… :)
That’s what I wore yesterday:

black suede fringe t-strap shoes - local store (S/S 2009)
black and white skirt - H&M (S/S 2007)
black tank - Zara
deconstructed white cardigan - local store (S/S 2009)
bracelet - Bijou Brigitte (S/S 2009)
cocktail ring - gift from Hubby
red frames sunglasses - mainland store (S/S2009)
white bag - Bata
lipstick - Esté Lauder
perfume - Amor Amor from Cacharel

I found it interesting that some of you pointed to my lack of dresses and how could be a piece that suits me. Thank you…. Food for thought :)

But all the gossip now is about Fall!!! I’m very excited about Fall… I know we are still with the hit, but…
I’ve been reading some things and I’m delightful with some trends, like the bold shoulders, yeah “power dressing”, the lady like mixed with the rock vibe, the statement necklaces, boots with cropped carrot pants or tucked skinny jeans and what about the belted figure… Oh you know I’m a “belts lady”.
But if you’re not an hour glass figure I think you must not despair, there are also looks that you can wear your belt, more over the hips or even above the waist under the chest. That’s my opinion, but as you know I’m not an expert.
And what about you, have you been thinking already of Fall???

All this talk about Fall made me realize that I’m not a good summer fashionista, what I like is the layering, the combination of various pieces, I think I’m definitely a Fall’s one.

And that’s what I wore today. This top is from the 80’s, we can’t call it a vintage, but I’m sure it’s a retro.

Take care and enjoy your time!

Meantime many things have happened.

Sister Seeker and her husband went back home. I had some bad mood days. I miss my closer family, because more than sisters we are friends forever.

Sher from Fashion After Forty was kind enough to show us how gorgeous she looks with the BB Dakota Purple Marilyn Dress, the giveaway from Searching the Inner Me… in partnership with Chickdowntown.com.
Thank you Sher and I recommend that you’ll take a look.

Hubby and I, we celebrated our weeding anniversary. It was a great dinner… You want to know more? No, that’s too much information…

The summer has been crazy, and like many days of this August, today was cloudy but with lots of luminosity, which is terrible for me, because of my contact lenses. That’s why I have my face all creased in these photos of today’s outfit. I know I should have put the sunglasses. “I should…. I should….”

Well if I wasn’t working today I’m sure that I would have to do the ritual of the sun. Don’t you know what it is???? Oh you must check it. You will love it!!!!

So, my dear readers and blogging friends, I hope you’ll have a great week. I also hope I’ll be able to check your blogs more often and start to post more regular.
I have a long “I should…” list…

Hello my dear readers and blogging friends.

I hope everything is great with you.
I miss you all!!!

I’m sorry I haven’t been a present blogger, these days, as I used to be. But after leaving the Mountain Spa we went to see my Hubby’s mother and then returned to the Island.

Sister Seeker and her husband are still here, so we have been enjoying their presence because they are already leaving the 12th. Meanwhile we’re working by now. So, to manage all this something has to be behind and I have to establish priorities.

I’m so sure you all understand me…

I’ve some outfits photos from the vacations to share with you, but for now they’re on hold.

No, I didn’t buy many improvements to my wardrobe with new season pieces. They weren’t yet so many that attracted me, despite a few interesting.

Well I can’t say I’m 100% back, but I guess slowly you’ll have news from me more often.

Right now I leave you with today’s outfit, wishing you all the best.

Searching the Inner Me and Chickdowntown.com giveaway and the WINNER is…

Yesterday was the day to be chosen at random one winner of the beautiful and versatile dress from the clothing line BB Dakota, the Purple Marilyn Dress in partnership with Chickdowntown.com

So I decided to do this the old-fashioned way (as there were some no eligible entries) thus I wrote out all the entries on a small paper, girls with two entries had their names on two papers.

Then I folded them over in four and mixed them well in a beaker.

After that I asked Sister Seeker to pick one with her eyes shut (promise!).

And the winner is

Sher!

Congratulations darling!!!

For those who didn't win, there are several of these competitions up around the blogosphere, and I’m sure this is not going to be my only one, so I hope you’ll win soon!!
