Alexander McQueen... a flower to you...

A single flower left outside the Alexander McQueen store in Old Bond Street

By this time all of you know and maybe have posted that iconic fashion designer Alexander McQueen has died, having taken his own life on February 11, 2010, which comes just days after the death of his beloved mother, Joyce.

The fashion industry has suffered a huge loss.

One of the most fascinating things about Lee "Alexander" McQueen is that his creations were as beautiful as they were bizarre. And no doubt many of you would recognize his famous "Armadillo" shoes, also referred as "lobster shoes," "lobster claw shoes," "hoof shoes," or, "those shoes in Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' video."

I wish you would've held on a bit longer to realize that the huge pain of losing your Mom will eventually be vanishing as I hope mine will.

May you rest in peace.

    Su :)

  3. How sad. Please keep tending your "inner me". Reach out to friends and receive their sympathies, even if awkwardly extended. Don't rush through your grief. Make time your friend. Thank you for your kind note.

  5. This is so tragic, seems like he was a very fragile individual. The blow of his mother's and bestfriend death was clearly weighting heavy on his soul.
