making it work for me...

For any fashionista a denim shirt is a must-have for this season!

So besides my vintage Levi’s medium wash shirt I also have this chambray shirt in light indigo blue, very alike denim that I bought some years ago on a mainland store that used to sell things from Paris and what makes it unique are the sparkles embellishes it has on the collar.

Hence as I said in a previous post I’m firm on my purpose to surpass that some kind of office dress code (not spoken) that doesn’t enable me to wear denim when working at the office.
So I thought that my denim shirt would work best when matched with dressy items. That way I’m dressing the denim shirt up and dressing the rest of the ensemble down. This is also a great way to stretch the wear of dressy pieces in our wardrobe.

That way I’m making denim working for me…

glamour a lifestyle...

That’s what my shirt says...
You can see by the bit of my legs that are showed that they are so much white bared. Oh I hate it!!!! I want to wear some skirts…

Oh God bless Hubby… even when I’m sad, in the end, he still manage to make me laugh….

always effortlessly elegant and classy...

I am a person with no fashion icons. I might like some outfits, but I’m not a celebrities follower and I don’t try to redo theirs styles.

However there’s someone that I feel as one of the most fascinating women of fashion universe and always captivates me - Giovanna Battaglia!

Something that makes Giovanna different from other editors and fashion insiders alike is her ability to re-work her clothes.

One wouldn't catch Anna Wintour or Carine Roitfeld in the same outfit twice, but for Giovanna she definitely has her wardrobe favourites and staples. Giovanna is able to transform the same pair of pants into two completely different outfits with different vibes.

She is often pictured with her knee-high black boots or birkin bag and grey turtlenecks amongst others. And she's definitely not afraid to show what she loves by re-wearing and re-working her pieces.

Giovanna has a penchant to wear labels often thought to be slightly unsexy however she’s able to do it in such a manner which is far from frumpy.

Always effortlessly elegant and classy she keeps people guessing as to how she's going to wear her pieces next.

She always keeps it simple and fresh, layering different key pieces together to create a seamless outfit.
It also doesn't hurt that she can show off those legs in a pair of killer heels and short skirts.

Her minimalist style with makeup kept to a minimum and subtle accessories are always tasteful and she always knows what works on her.

If only I could have a bit of the same ability to mix and match and transform a look by putting on new shoes, jacket and some accessories...

But then again, Giovanna is Giovanna just because of that!!!!

at last some warm weather… but I have to do my pedicure…. home renovation and remodeling with Feng Shui…

Yesterday was the first day this year that I felt some warmness… Yeah, maybe we can start wearing our lighter clothes and new kind of shoes and sandals. That’s why I’ve to do my pedicure as I think that uncover your toes without a pedicure is a big no no.

You probably have already notice that I’ not much of a denim wear person. Well, there’s a reason for that, because I don’t invest much on denim clothes due to some kind of office dress code that doesn’t enable me to wear them when working at the office.
So I tend to use denim clothes just on casual looks on weekends or holidays unless it’s something dark denim, like this “jeggings” I bought when I travelled to Toronto early this year.
But as I’ve told you already I have a trendy fashion persona, so I’m excited to give it a try – my way - enjoyed the challenge of making it work for me.
However I must confess you that I’m having some inner problems, because I’m still wearing my mourning attire, about dressing other colours than black or grey.

I guess I’ve never talked here that I’m doing some home renovation and remodeling. I know, one more thing to still make me very busy. But I guess that in the end we will finish with that sensation of well being.
Balanced space for each family member, location of the kitchen, figure out the lighting, among other things, are very important if you wish to follow Feng Shui guide lines.
I do believe that Feng Shui guide lines are important to change the flow of energy which is always a good thing, but there can be some limitations because of the environment that is already created.
Nowadays you can find some home remodeling contractors who are believers of this practice and they can help you arrange your rooms and furniture the right way, thus you will be attaining good energies in your home.

These pictures were taken in our city garden. It used to be such a beautiful garden… but now is very poor with just a few flowers and not so well presented. I felt sad about it, I had the feeling that one more thing from my childhood has disappeared…

just wear your pearls….

Yesterday my camera failed me… well it was my fault that I didn’t recharge the batteries… and we were just able to take one picture, the one below.
I just love wearing pearls… they’re so intriguing… because they can make “that” detail.

But I also love scarves, nowadays Hubby has been saying that I’m making scarves as my “trade mark” and I have to admit that in last days I always wear one (you can check on published pictures).
But don’t be afraid of wearing your necklace under your scarf, because if it gets hot and you’ll feel the need to take of the scarf you’ll be still stylish with your necklace.

I really like tipped jackets!!! They remind me classic Chanel jackets and if you think of it, you’ll get the right visual in your mind. I believe that this classic look is always in style…

9 Helpful Tips to Help You Choose the Right Swimsuit for Your Body...

Women can look great in a swimsuit. When choosing the right swimsuit for your body, you need to understand your body type and base your purchase on your figure. Your body may belong to the following categories: small on top, big on top, straight figure, hourglass, petite, plus size, short legs, long body, or bottom heavy.

Women may not notice it, but many make a big mistakes when they buy a swimsuit for the bikini season. the mistake women most commonly make is choosing the wrong swimsuit for their figures. Women have different body types and not all one piece swimsuits or bikinis will fit all of them. The best tip for choosing the right swimsuit is to look at your body’s silhouette.

Small on top

You have a “small on top” figure if you have a smaller bust line, or have a body with narrow shoulders and wider hips. Swimsuits that create more details on the bust but with less embellishment at the bottom are perfect for you. Choose tops with padding or under wire or those with ruffles or big ribbons to enhance your bust line. You can also wear bandeau tops and choose separates.

Big on top

You have a “big on top” figure if you are busty, or have wide shoulders, narrower hips and a defined waistline. Go for tops with under wire for additional support. Halter-top bikinis, one piece swimsuits with bust foams, and classic tanks will look good on you. Avoid swim wear that provides little coverage, like bandeau tops.

Straight figure

You have a “straight figure” if your shoulders, waist and hips are of the same size. Choose swimsuits that define your waistline, like high-cut one-piece suits, or ones with a belted waistline. Also go for swim wear that defines the hips, like bikinis with rings or ruffles. Avoid one-piece suits with horizontal stripes or with solid colors.

Hourglass

You have an “hourglass” figure if your waist is well-defined and you have equally-sized bust and hips. This figure can fit any kind of swimsuit. This body type looks great in brightly colored small bikinis and one-piece swimsuits.

Petite

You have a “petite” figure if you are less than 5’5” tall and are either slender or curvy. Look for swim wear that elongates your legs, like high waist bottoms. Any kind of top will fit this type of silhouette.

Plus size

You have a “plus size” figure if you are curvy or have large breasts, large hips and a big tummy. The best swimsuits for you are those that conceal the flab yet emphasize the curves, like tankinis or laced and V-neckline one-piece suits. Dark colored swim wear is highly preferred.

Short legs

You have a “short legs” figure if you have a long body and short legs. The best swimsuits for you are those with high cuts on the thighs and with vertical stripes. This design helps elongate the legs. Skip the skirted bikinis and boy shorts.

Long legs

You have a “long legs” figure if you have a short torso and long legs. Look for swimsuits that emphasize your bust line and hip , like ruffled and jewel-designed tops, boy shorts or skirted bikinis.

Bottom heavy

You have a “bottom heavy” figure if your hips are wider that your waist and bust line. Mini-skirted bikinis and wide-strapped or horizontal neckline one-piece maillots are just the perfect swim wear for you. Never go for boy shorts.

Determining your body type is the first step in choosing a swimsuit. The next time you shop, just remember some key elements and you’ll be sure that your swimsuit will look great on you.

purchasing rock shirts...

When buying rock shirts, you need to decide on the details you want for your shirt, visit different websites, take a look around specialty shops, shop within your budget, and look out for great deals.

Buying rock shirts sounds really simple and enjoyable, but shopping could be made easier if you consider the following tips:

Decide on the details you want for your shirt

Before you actually go shopping, think of the details you want for your shirt. Is it just any rock shirt you want or are you looking for a shirt of your favorite rock band? Do you have a particular shirt style and shirt color in mind? These things are quite important to predetermine in order to make shopping a lot easier for you considering there are a lot of rock shirts available on the market.

Visit different websites

Now that you have an idea what particular rock shirt to look for, you can surf the Net and visit different websites. If you have a specific rock band in mind, you can visit the official website or fan site of the band. You can also post classified ad describing the shirt you want on Craigslist. If you are shopping for just any rock shirt, you can visit online specialty shops, online retail stores, and even online auction websites like eBay. Just be cautious of scammers and consider reviewing feedback and seller reviews so you can be more confident that you will get the item you are paying for.

Take a look around specialty shops

To make sure you get the exact shirt you want and to really examine shirt details, take a stroll and visit specialty shops in your area. If you are having a difficult time looking for one, you can ask your friends for some recommendations. You can also search the Internet for shop listings or log in to rock band forums and solicit advise from members.

Shop within your budget

For every purchase you make, there has to be a budget. Especially if you are taking the amount from your allowance, you must make sure that you shop within your budget. When searching different websites, be sure to include your accepted price range in your search criteria to make your shopping faster and easier.

Look out for great deals

It is always good to shop great deals. Look for shops that offer you the best ones for the budget you have. eBay, for example, is particularly known for its more expensive items than other sources. However, some people are left with no other option than eBay, especially with hard-to-find items. If you can, look for discounts and shop when sale items are in season. Watch for clearance sales, Thanksgiving sales, and other holiday sales that can help you save a lot of money.

Shopping for rock shirts is as fun as listening to rock music. Just make sure you follow the tips mentioned so you can save time, effort, and even money shopping.

up or down… down or up… buttoned blouses…

Don’t let this sunshine fool you that we’ve a great weather, because it is so instable that I’m still wearing two layers and a jacket if needed. Last year, by this time I think we were already wearing short sleeves and sandals.

But I started this post thinking about talking of buttoned blouses, since I’m wearing one in this outfit.
Buttoned blouses seem to be a trend this season, especially a silky or semi-shear shirt.
Well for me they’re something common given that they are staples in my everyday wardrobe, a staple of business attire.
This nine-to-five staple definitely got a dose of cool on the spring 2010 runways, designers layered them, belted them, adorned them with jewels, and gave this geek-chic trend a sophisticated edge.
And I love them! If you combine them with the right accessories and wear these blouses in different styles, then you will be able to create new fashion with these.
Now I’m dreaming with the oversized silhouette, otherwise known as the shirtdress.

By the way, another piece from my wish list, the Madalyn Necklace

Today the city is dressing its best’s clothes to start living the biggest festivities of the year, the Sanjoaninas, which are the Saint John’s Festival that ends next Sunday 27th.
This year for personal reasons I’m not going to participate, but for those who will… Happy Festivities!!!

can style and comfort coexist…?

Well it seems so and you can see it if you head over to www.buyitrighthere.co.uk the online website that is currently focussed on dispelling the myths surrounding Ugg boots but is also expanding to include guides on comfortable fashion in general.

It defends that fashion brings so much more to life if it can be therapeutic and healthy. Often comfort and fashion clash and women sacrifice their sanity to fit into the size 6 dress and live with the blisters from new heels.

This website will also be introducing designer ranges and brands which attempt to balance fashion and comfort without designer prices. They proudly present the Whooga line of Australian merino fleece Ugg boots. Whooga is quickly gaining recognition as a premier alternative sheepskin Ugg boot brand that offers quality and workmanship at a high standard backed by the Whooga warranty.

And they were kind enough to offer my dear readers a $30 credit for the next 2 weeks (starting today) on any total purchase. Just enter the discount code when checking out and you're good to go! Enjoy!

mix = a blend of diverse elements; an amalgamation…

One of the Spring Season's biggest trends is mixing and matching prints. We’ve seen it on runways of different designers’ collections.
But I’ve to confess my weakness, I tend to find Belgian designer Dries van Noten, who featured plenty of colourful and eclectic looks in his Spring/Summer 2010 collection, always intriguing.

S/S 2010

I don’t need (or want) to sport every fashion trend every season. But I have a trendy fashion persona and I do like to sport the trends that tickle my fancy, especially if they’re a little more daring and controversial.
However for now all I can do is this, mixing stripes with polka dots and small flowers in the same colour palette…

But if you want to see more patterns mixing, check out Audi’s blog. Audi really has fun mixing patterns. I love her outfits!

A great pair of sunglasses is worth every penny. This spring/summer there will be no shortage of stylish frames to choose from.
For those who prefer throwback styles like aviators and wayfarers classic Ray Bans are a must.
Ray Ban Aviators were very popular in the 1960s and the 1980s. This gives them a historical precedent and allows people to classify them as “timeless.” That way when one purchases these sunglasses one can talk about how they were inspired by the fashion and music of these bygone eras.
