Très Chic Style Bits #1 - Business Dress Codes.......

I’m so trilled and anxious (and a bit afraid) with the first Link Up Party Très Chic Style Bits”. If you want to participate, which I hope so, it’s very easy. At the bottom of this post is the button you must click to had your link.

Today I decided to talk about Corporate Dress using a post I wrote many time ago.

As we all know first impressions count. If your goal to getting dressed for work is to project a professional, competent image, regardless of your employment level or career path be sure that getting dressed for the office doesn't mean leaving your personal style behind.

The dress code has nothing to do with fashion. It is about making workers feel more confident, more professional.
However, despite most companies don't have specific guidelines about what to wear to work, some organizations encourage employees to dress according to some “Business Dress Codes*, which are:
Formal Business Attire- For women this constitutes business suits (a matched skirt and jackets) and, in most workplaces, pantsuits (matched pants and blazer). Closed-toe shoes (no sandals), blouses, hose and conservative hair, jewellery and makeup are expected.
Corporate Casual Looks-Working women have interpreted this to mean everything from shorts to sundresses, but in its most literal sense it means "smart business." Dressy pants and a blouse, sleek jersey knits and skirts and tops are all examples of corporate casual. Denim, T-shirts and flip-flops are only acceptable in the most casual of work environments.
Casual Friday - Depending on the business, this can mean anything from corporate casual instead of formal looks or "Wear your company logo polo and jeans." If in doubt, ask a superior. One of the best clues to company dress codes is what your boss wears.

Colour plays a big part in professional image. Traditional career colours include red (aggressive), navy (trustworthy), grey (conservative) and black (chic). Most of these colours work well in pantsuits, skirts and shoes and mix back with softer feminine colours that are appropriate like ice blue, lilac, soft pink and ivory.
*information found on about.com: Women's Fashion

Fortunately at my office we don’t have a formal dress code, (despite I have my own office dress code), and so we can play with corporate look as with casual look. Or also mix them… which is great, because in a way the sky can be the limit…. Well with some limits…. Lol

And here is what I wore last Friday. I had to take my pictures when I got home, because I forgot my camera but anyway it was raining, so I couldn’t have taken them outdoors.

My trip to Paris..... what I wore.... second day....

As Ernest Hemingway wrote in his book “A Moveable Feast”, "... then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
C’est la fête……

And our second day in Paris was a day to celebrate!!! September 19th is Sister’s Birthday and we celebrated it.
What an unforgettable day…..

We started going to the “Basilica of the Sacré Cœur”, where we saw a beautiful view all over Paris and also the very interesting Basilica.
We walked through Montmartre where I loved being at “Place du Tertre”, with all those artists and crafts.
I had a portrait made by one of the street artists and I like it very much.
At Montmartre I ate a “cheese crepe” and it was yummy.
“Pigalle” with many sex shops was fun and of course we had to stop at “Moulin Rouge”.
After that we turned to Eiffel Tower, where we took so many pictures that it’s so difficult to choose the best.
In one of the “Bateaux Mouches”, a large white boat with bright orange seats, we made a relaxing and practical way to view the sights of Paris in all their grandeur, a Seine River Cruise.

After that we went to the Hotel, to prepare ourselves for a nice dinner in a pleasant restaurant, where we ended the Sister’s Birthday celebrations. (I don’t show any picture of this because I haven’t any alone).

And here it is what I wore on my second day in Paris:

Très Chic Style Bits ........ a link up......

Hello my dear readers and blogging friends!

I’m so excited to announce my new weekly link up called “Très Chic Style Bits”.
I’ve decided to re-launch my blog and spicy it up with a linky party.

What’s a linky party?
Basically, a linky party is an “event” that spans a set period of times (hours, days, months, years) that allows people to share URLs to specific posts or pages on another person’s website.
Often, the linky party host will allow for photos to display, which will be the case (since I purchased an extended account) meaning you show a little picture of your content above the direct link to the post itself.

So, every Sunday I will host a link up, where you can post about anything and everything that makes your life stylish and meet some other stylish gals!
In our Linky your post doesn’t have to be just Fashion related, but it can also be Lifestyle connected.
Want to join me?  Awesome! I can’t wait to see all the fabulous posts. We can all use some inspiration from time to time.

Here are the guidelines:

1.  Please follow (if you aren’t already a follower) Searching the Inner Me in some way (Bloglovin,   Facebook, Google + or GFC);
2.  Please only link a new post, or fairly recent one;
3.  Please include a link to Searching the Inner Me somewhere in your post, picking up the button bellow (or a text link), so others can get involved in “Très Chic Style Bits”;
4. Please link up your post using our weekly InLinkz button at the bottom of the gallery. I’m using the new, dynamic widget. This makes it easy for people to find your content AND for you to visit your fellow bloggers. It is also very friendly, so you will not have difficulties linking up;
