Très Chic Style Bits #18 | how details can make the difference…..

Hello my dear readers and blogging friends. First of all I want to thank to everyone who took the time to leave insightful comments on my post about my doubts in my blogging.
I also stumble upon a post about how to be a happy blogger, which, due to my spiritual believes, that there are no coincidences, was on point.

Well, but it seems that times goes so quickly because it’s already time again for our weekly Link Up Party.
Join us and add your link at the bottom of this post.

Let us be at peace with our bodies and our minds.
Let us return to ourselves and become wholly ourselves.

mustard and black...... my quilted pleather jacket.... what do our clothes say about who we are...

 photo quiltedjacket4_zps25d5492b.jpg

There’s a fabulous line early on in "The Devil Wears Prada":
“Fashion is not about utility. An accessory is merely a piece of iconography used to express individual identity.”
What do our clothes say about who we are or who we think we are? How does the way we dress communicate messages about our identity? Is the desire to be "in fashion" universal, or is it unique to Western culture? How do fashions change?
Much of what we assume to be individual preference really reflects deeper social and cultural forces. Ours is an ambivalent social world, characterized by tensions over gender roles, social status, and the expression of sexuality.
What we wear and how we look is our only way to communicate who we are to people without dialogue. Clothes are indicators of our personalities, likes, values and subcultures we may be a part of. We are in a constant stage of reflecting our identity and the only way we can do that in the physical world is through our bodies. Our bodies are physical representations for defining how we choose to be perceived as individuals.

A quotation that I find interesting and related:

"Long before we're old enough to do anything on our own, we're old enough to dress ourselves. When we stand bewildered in a closet or a department store dressing room, what we're confronting is one of life's fundamental questions: Is this me? And: Would I like this to be me? Under what stretch of the imagination might this possibly be me? And finally: Who am I? ... Clothes are a constant act of self-definition ..."

My trip to Paris..... what I wore.... second day....

As Ernest Hemingway wrote in his book “A Moveable Feast”, "... then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
C’est la fête……

And our second day in Paris was a day to celebrate!!! September 19th is Sister’s Birthday and we celebrated it.
What an unforgettable day…..

We started going to the “Basilica of the Sacré Cœur”, where we saw a beautiful view all over Paris and also the very interesting Basilica.
We walked through Montmartre where I loved being at “Place du Tertre”, with all those artists and crafts.
I had a portrait made by one of the street artists and I like it very much.
At Montmartre I ate a “cheese crepe” and it was yummy.
“Pigalle” with many sex shops was fun and of course we had to stop at “Moulin Rouge”.
After that we turned to Eiffel Tower, where we took so many pictures that it’s so difficult to choose the best.
In one of the “Bateaux Mouches”, a large white boat with bright orange seats, we made a relaxing and practical way to view the sights of Paris in all their grandeur, a Seine River Cruise.

After that we went to the Hotel, to prepare ourselves for a nice dinner in a pleasant restaurant, where we ended the Sister’s Birthday celebrations. (I don’t show any picture of this because I haven’t any alone).

And here it is what I wore on my second day in Paris:

three colours and one print....

Hello my dear readers and blogging friends.
I hope everything is great with you.
I miss you all!!!
I haven’t been a good blogger… I know.
However life has those things and we must set some priorities even if they are just our very own priorities.
But I would like to share with you my last shoots for a challenge made by Sylvia from 40+ Style, in which I participated. The challenge was to wear three colours and one print in the same outfit.

in the urban jungle…....

Over half of the world's population now lives in the urban jungle. One environment that's been made by us for us - the city it refers to its streets, alleys, subway system, inner-city neighbourhoods, playgrounds and schools. Usually a metropolis characterized by densely packed residential buildings, businesses and a decaying industrial sector.
In the 1970's, the urban jungle was referred to as "the street". Also known as "the concrete jungle", the city is built to keep wild nature out - but nature can't be pushed away. People are starting to realise that nature is key to our continued survival. The human planet is starting to realise that we'll only survive if we protect nature.
So I wore my black and white animal print to camouflage myself in this jungle……

Talking about something different have you noticed that I changed my motto?????

here comes the sun.....

Another 2 in 1 post…. I mean two looks just in one post now because I have no time for more.

Yesterday the sun started to peek and the feeling that good weather might come was great to dress bright colours, like my green pants, paired with pastel, my light pink blazer.

Today we had such a nice day with the sun shinning at last. I had just the wish to wear my new Westrags white blazer.

I just hope the sun will last and will make the temperature goes up, because I have a friend’s weeding this weekend and my outfit requires the hit.
