close to heaven...

I want to apologize to all my dear readers and blogging friends for my lack of posting and also for being so away of checking your blogs and comment. As well I want to thank all the expressions of concern and affection that many sent me.
Due to some circumstances I’ve been very busy with short time for blogging.

Sister Seeker and her husband arrived, safe and well and I got fantastic gifts which included this gorgeous pair of studded sandals and a fabulous top that I didn’t wear yet.

Meanwhile, we, Hubby and I, came to mainland and now we’re on holidays at a great Mountain SPA called H2otel (I love the name) on Serra da Estrela.

It’s interesting the duality of the islander in me that makes me miss the sea and my inner goat (I’m a Capricorn you know...) which feels the mountain in a special way.

We’re having a great time, being very well treated. Being the only vegetarian for now at the hotel, the chef made me a special menu for the entire week that was taken to my approval.

We’re spending most of our day time at the gym and the pool. The night is for dinner and to spend an enjoyable time on the bar, chatting.

So I think you’ll understand my absence...
However I’ll try to do some posts and go visit you all on the opportunities that I would have.

And I’ll be back soon with a great giveaway!!!! Don’t miss it!!!

For the time being, I leave you with some pictures of the day I arrived and last night outfits.

Take care and enjoy your time the most!!!

TO - 06/24 - it was Saint John’s holiday… with the city well dressed, I looked casual…

The city is dressing its best’s clothes to live the biggest festivities of the year, the Sanjoaninas, which are the Saint John’s Festival that ends Sunday.

“Au contraire”, I chose to wear, on this city holiday, a very simple and casual look to go for a walk through the places where the party is pulsing.

I think you’ll understand why today my post is short of words… ;)

On another note I must confess that I’ve always been a blazer woman, but I also liked a lot my cardigans which you can see by last summer outfits. Well, poor cardigans that are relegate this year by my complete addiction to blazers.
Must give them more importance…

TO – 06/10 – as old become new… mystery solved about Chanel’s…

Well, for those who were a bit afraid of what was going to happen to Chanel’s, the mystery is solved.
Chanel said that Karl Lagerfeld isn’t going anywhere as also Lanvin has denied the rumour that Alber Elbaz would replace Karl at Chanel.
We can peace our minds, because all stays the same
Today we had a holyday and tomorrow will be a Holy holyday, yuppy, two days of the office, the week will be really short.
As I’ve told you before the island is also known as the land of four seasons in a day.
Today was one of those days, we had a bit of sun, much wind and now so much mist, a true “Island of Haze”.

Some of you might know that I’ve been trough a tough time which hasn’t helped me being creative or even confident with my outfits. So I’m still playing for safe. But I really felt comfortable with these casual old turned new clothes.

TO – 05/02 – I’ve heard that orange is one colour of spring…and… am I a sexy blogger?

Requested by several families I’m publishing the picture of MimiMe.
LOL

Lovely and talented Lenorenevermore gave me the “Sexy Blogger Award”. Me, moi, je… sexy, dear… do you think so?
Anyway I feel so privilege that you thought of me for this so cool and gorgeous award. Thank you so much my dear.
And that’s with great pleasure that I pass it to these dazzling girls:
Anika
janettaylor
Marian
[my rainbow eye]

Spring 2009, juicy orange is the colour to be seen it. It comes in so many stimulating hues, from pale and peachy to dark sunburnt shades. I think the warmth of this colour is really flattering to most faces. It can be safety pair well with charcoal greys, deep browns and blues. But if you’re brave enough, you can try your own combo…
Today my hair looks like s#i/, it wasn’t a bad hair day, but the wind didn’t collaborate…
I wish you all are having a fabulous weekend. Oh by the way, I really had a great night out on Thursday.

TO – 04/24 & 04/25 – how do you face transitional weather… and I hate holidays on a Saturday…

Transitional weather, as we can call it because isn’t yet Spring’s and isn’t also Winter’s, can be faced in two ways.
As something that sucks, very nerve racking, especially on the land of the “four seasons in a day”, or as a great challenge on layered looks. When well combine there are items that give you body temperature adjustment. You can wear almost everything when it’s cold, take of the warmers to go indoors and even take off something else, like a cardigan if you feel overheating.

I think that it’s a great time to innovate and be creative, but I have to be honest, sometimes it really sucks… Yesterday I was completely uninspired about what to wear.

How about you? How do you deal with this kind of weather?

Today it’s a holiday, we are celebrating the ‘red carnation revolution.’ It’s a day that should be full of significance. Last year I’ve talked about it here, if you’re interested.
However I still have the same question “are the ideals of the red carnation revolution done?”.

But I just hate that it’s a Saturday… we didn’t work anyway…

TO - 03/21 - my new old jeans... or my old new jeans...

Who said it was spring? Have the spring gods be informed of that?
I guess not, because it’s cold, dark and windy.

Well, as everybody knows jeans and denim are hot for this spring in light washes, specially bleached, acid and so. They are all over, so I thought they might also be on my boxes. Hmmm… maybe someday I will need to talk about my boxes.
So making a raid trough my boxes I found this jeans that lovely sis gave me on one of my trips to Canada. For one reason or another they were in my boxes, and now… they will make some great weekend or holiday’s outfits. Don’t you think?

OMG my washing machine is sick. It’s making some weird noises. First it was just when it finished, now it’s also while washing the clothes. What if the “doctor” says it’s dying…?

I must tell that I’m satisfied with my new haircut.

TO - 03/13 - just another manic Friday 13th…

Usually I don’t wear denim to work at the office. I think it a bit too casual.
But today I decided that my dark jeans could make some kind of casual chic with a blazer and a plaid shirt.
Nothing too complicated, very simple, because I'm crossing some what of a fashion crisis. Maybe I’m just bored of winter clothes…

TO - 02/25 - on Ash Wednesday… ashes to ashes… chocolate to me…

Today I didn’t go to the office. Since yesterday was the Carnival Holiday, half of the workers went to work Monday and the other half went today – Ash Wednesday. I was one of the Monday workers.

So this afternoon I went… windows shopping.

I’m beginning to feel the pressure of the Island. I need to go urgently on a trip to mainland. Besides, today I saw on the TV news about “the best chocolate cake of the world”… can you imagine where… at our capital.
I’m trilled to go there on our next trip.
