Très Chic Style Bits #11 | my trip to Paris..... what I wore.... third day....

I’ve been thinking about our Link Up Party and realized that everyone who make the effort to link needed, besides the exposure gained for whatever you've been working on, to be featured in some way.
So, starting from now, I'll be pinning and sharing links throughout the week to my Très Chic Style Bits board on Pinterest!
I’m also thinking about doing something in Google +, but I’m not sure if it’s going to work, so we’ll see…. :)
Oh…. and it will be live until every Saturday.

********************
As some of you know, last September I made a trip to Paris and I started a serial posts about it, but never ended it.
If you’re interested about it, you can read here and here.

So on third day it was again time for celebration. It was Brother-in-law’s Birthday and we celebrated it. Another unforgettable day…..

The temperature dropped down and I thought Friday was a good day to wear my faux fur vest. I throw under it a plaid shirt and this is the result.
Of course I wore an overcoat, because vests and I, we don’t have a good relation. I love them, but I always feel cold in my arms.
I semi tucked the shirt and add up a nice necklace (not very well seen in the pictures) to give the look a more polished vibe, since it is a bit casual.
It was windy when Hubby took the photos, as you can see in my last picture, so my hair was a mess.

Today is the anniversary of my Father’s loss.
He was always there for me through both the good times and the bad
He was always there to laugh with, or to help me when I was sad
I remember his arms around me, loved the way they always felt warm
With him by my side I completely felt no harm
I remember all the things he did to make my life worthwhile
I guess I’m missing him more than I usually do with this heart of mine

Thanks for being the best dad a girl could ever find
I still miss your smile, Dad…..
May the light be with you!!!

purple and gray…. but with a scarf…..

 photo purple3_zps6479a768.jpg

In the last couple of days we have been under rain, so I had to return to the pictures indoors.
Despite the rain the weather is still a bit warmer with no need of heavy clothes or many layers, though I can’t go by without a scarf.
I guess for me a scarf isn’t just a piece to heat myself, but also a statement piece and part of my style.
This is what I wore today in the office, a classic look. I prefer something still elegant, but with an irreverent vibe or detail, a look like this makes me feel I’m dressing in an ageing way.
Any insights????

Très Chic Style Bits #4 | the ethnic scarf….

Considering that our Link Up Party “Très Chic Style Bits” have just begun, I’m so happy and proud of our last one. And it’s all because of you, the lovely and stylish bloggers who linked up. So I thank you very much to all and I hope you will show in this week and that some other bloggers will join us.

This is how I went to work last Friday. Despite being a grey day it had some luminosity, which was harming my eyes, so the weird expression.
Looking at these pictures, I also saw that I could have done a few things to improve my look. Like putting a thin golden belt, some bracelets……
So why did I publish them, you may ask.
Well, because I’m just a woman taking photos of what I wear to go to work or to do something on weekends.
You know, I don’t dress for the picture.
My outfits can be elaborated, creative or very simple, because my choices are according to my moods and the time I have in the morning.
I’m just a simple and normal working woman…
And like everyone I have good days and not so good ones. I guess this wasn’t that good.

(Note to self: next visit to hairdresser must do something new to my hair.)

But I really like my scarf which I think has an ethnic vibe.

My trip to Paris..... what I wore.... first day....

Spring/Summer 2014 Paris Fashion Week would be on the next week. But what moved me to go to Paris in that particular week (September 17 to 21) was a way far from anything Fashion related.

When Sister called me and said she would be traveling, with her husband, to the Island on holidays and would spend her Birthday here, I knew I had to do something. Sister always dreamed to go visit Paris, even more than I.
So what a better place to celebrate her Birthday than Paris????
Then I started to press everyone and it came true all the preparations to go on our trip to Paris.

When the time came to pack, we checked the weather forecast and it wasn’t very good. We should be prepared for all kind of weather. But it’s something that we, living on the Island of “four seasons in a day”, are more or less used to. The only thing we had to be very careful was with the shoes. Paris is a city to walk, so flats and shoes that are broken in are a must.

And then our adventure trip of four days in Paris began. Such a WOW trip.
Since I was focused on having a good time, visiting the most we could and enjoying Paris, I didn’t take any pictures with the purpose of showing my outfits better.
So I will show you the pieces of the look and then some pictures in it, that give you a perception how I looked.

Our hotel was in the middle of “Quartier Latin”, near La Sorbonne and Les Jardins de Luxembourg.
We arrived latter night on September 17th.

The first day (September 18th) we started going to the Arc of Triumph and then walked through the Champs Elisée.
Next “Grands Magasins du Printemps”, “Galeries Lafayette “ and ‘’L’Opéra ‘’.
On the way to Place the La Concorde and just before we stopped to lunch, it started to rain. It was our “rainy” day.

Here is what I wore on my first day in Paris:

The first Parisian bridge where love gets 'locked' forever was Pont des Arts...... now it's so full that other bridges are being used...... I know the Parisians don’t like it, but I think it’s so lovely that I clamped a padlock on a bridge..........
(My hair was a mess with the wind and rain we got that day)

On second day….. well, second day will be for another time. I’ll be back…… until then :)
