I'm in love with S/S 2011 collection of Jil Sander...

Well in a time that almost every fashion blogs are talking about F/W 2011 Fashion Weeks I feel a bit outdated.

But actually what I’m going to face now is Spring and that’s what’s on my mind right now.
So one of the big trends I’m preparing to embrace is “Hiper Colour”.

The trend has started already a few seasons ago but has definitely reached its peak this summer.
Raf Simons (interesting that he’s also Belgium like Dries Van Noten, my favourite designer) is among the forerunners with his beautiful S/S 2011 collection for Jil Sander.

These are very new and unusual colour combos and the colours are vivid. That’s what makes you look modern and youthful.
So wear modern colour combos, but don’t mix too many colours together, keep it to 2-3 colours, remember that neutrals don’t count.

But this one above for me the is master look on this trend, from the Gucci S/S 2011 collection, which I will try to channel.

different ways to wear a scarf...

You know that I’m a scarves lover!!!
Sometimes I think that they become like a signature of mine (well not in summer… never the less…).
After seeing this post by Savvy Gal I remembered an e-mail I’ve received with different ways to wear a scarf.

So putting the fun back into scarves, let’s see those ways:

The Bag Charm
Inject colour and pattern into a handbag by lacing your scarf through the buckles or simply trying it to the strap.

The Classic
Traditionally tied around the neck and knotted to one side, this look injects colour into any outfit.

The Bow Tie
Add a sartorial twist to your look by styling your scarf into a flamboyant bow and making a statement in silk.

The Boho
Unleash the hippy child within by looping once around your neck and leaving the long ends of the scarf to flow.

The Shoulder Surfer
For a touch of old school glamour, pin your scarf to a blazer or winter coat using a vintage brooch.

The Neckerschief
The new trendsetter: diagonally fold a large square in two knotting the two ends behinf your neck and arranging the triangle shape at the front.

let’s show off your legs men... with some great shorts…

Hopping the arrival of warmer weather we start to think of lighter and summer clothes. But it’s not just us women that should think of it, men also have a key piece to think about, at least the ones that care about their image, that is the mens shorts.
Well we know that many men trust their companions to take care of that but there are a few dos and dont’s that even they need to follow.
There are many different types and styles of men’s shorts; depending on the activities men may be interested in.
Anyway I think shorts for men should be fashionable as well as functional. So, in a positive way I decided to share some tips I think can help men to be a little more careful of how they look.

Go for olive or navy colour khaki. You can go for a length from mid-thigh to mid-knee. A cargo with a flat front looks awesome when paired with a short tee-shirt.

The appropriate place to wear a pair of board shorts is if you are at a beach side or near water, it would look great.

If you are planning to attend a party or it is too hot to wear pants then go for linen shorts. You can team them up with short sleeve linen shirt and sandals.

Do wear trendy shorts: If you are one of those who follow latest fashion trends then go for shorts from well known brands like G-star.

Now let’s hope the weather gets really summery and helps to show off your legs… with great mens shorts.

desperately seeking summer grunge...

The alternative 90’s style is making a comeback, and Abandon are borrowing elements from that era without making us all look like Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan. They have bought the Grunge Deluxe trend back up to speed again, taking inspiration from Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs using deluxe washes.

The key trend of the era, which was heavily represented on the catwalks, was grunge. It is a versatile trend that champions the nonchalant, layered, un-groomed casual look that is set to become popular for Spring/Summer 2010.

Layers of lattice – and strips of shredding – are inserted into jersey tops, dresses, and leggings. Rock-inspired, denim trucker jackets can be teamed with haunting acid-wash tees and shredded leggings for a psychedelic twist to the grunge-chick look.

Recreating summer grunge with a deluxe edge, ditsy carnation prints are mixed up with lashings of lace, evoking wild nights of abandon.

featuring one of Westrags' fall wares…

Westrags is an on-line store with affordable outfits and accessories for every occasion. Plus Westrags delivers all over the world which is very important for some of us, like me.
And if you don’t feel comfortable with English you can choose other language from this front page.

Westrags is one of those sites where I can spend way too much time fantasy shopping. They always seem to have something that ends up on my wish list.

So when they contacted me to try out and feature one of their new fall wares I was understandably excited.

The chosen piece was the Nidi Dress and I was even more excited when I opened the bag and saw how perfect it was.

With some different vibes it can be a versatile piece, which you can style to be worn to a corporate work and also to a night out.

You can layer it with other pieces to go to work and feel warm and comfy, like this:

But you also can put it on to a night out, for instance as this:

However I’m sure you will see this dress styled in different ways as I’m planning to wear it often.

Westrags also has an interesting blog, the Westlog where you can know everything that may happen in Westrags and also see articles about fashion in general, about the styles on trend, bargains and discounts, and fashion tips: hairstyles, make-up, clothing, etc.

I noticed that Westrags is carrying a quantity of nice items from their fall line so I should be heading over that way right about now to see if I can get my hands on some.
