purple and gray…. but with a scarf…..

 photo purple3_zps6479a768.jpg

In the last couple of days we have been under rain, so I had to return to the pictures indoors.
Despite the rain the weather is still a bit warmer with no need of heavy clothes or many layers, though I can’t go by without a scarf.
I guess for me a scarf isn’t just a piece to heat myself, but also a statement piece and part of my style.
This is what I wore today in the office, a classic look. I prefer something still elegant, but with an irreverent vibe or detail, a look like this makes me feel I’m dressing in an ageing way.
Any insights????

when it’s a matter of style, not of a trend….

Looking to some old pictures on this blog I realized why it’s easy for me to spot this Fall’s colour blocking trend. It’s because I’ve been wearing it before… so I guess for me it’s more than a trend, it’s part of my style.
Sounds logic, don’t you think?

I hope all my dear readers and blogging friends living in Canada had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

my (un)friend the wind…….

Today the sun peeked and if it wasn’t for the North wind maybe we could have had a warm day…

I’m still with my home renovations which I expect to end by the middle of June, until then I haven’t much time to write long posts. Sorry my dear readers and blogging friends…..

I’m wearing my chambray shirt as a smart way to wear denim at the office, just peeking, like the sun, under my light pink blazer.

dressing corporate….

In opposition to yesterday I wore a more corporate outfit today, clashed by the yellow of the handbag.

I still haven’t decided if I will continue to post the brands of my clothes. I really would like to know your opinion, if you’re a follower on Facebook there’s a pool there, so please go and vote.

And be alert…. By the end of the week we’ll have a surprise for you…..

memories...

"Memories from childhood stay with us forever,

Taking us where we have been and will go

Pieces of life that live on and will never

Let us forget we were young long ago.

Sometimes I wander back into those shadows,

Quietly being who I used to be,

Bringing to life all the joys and the sorrows,

Days that can’t die while they still live in me.

Holidays linger and happy times glisten;

I can see everyone active and well.

I can still hear them if only I listen,

Feeling each motion and breathing each smell.

Life has such treasures that time’s always stealing;

Nothing can ever entirely stay.

While you are young, you can capture each feeling;

Make all the memories you can every day."

just wear your pearls….

Yesterday my camera failed me… well it was my fault that I didn’t recharge the batteries… and we were just able to take one picture, the one below.
I just love wearing pearls… they’re so intriguing… because they can make “that” detail.

But I also love scarves, nowadays Hubby has been saying that I’m making scarves as my “trade mark” and I have to admit that in last days I always wear one (you can check on published pictures).
But don’t be afraid of wearing your necklace under your scarf, because if it gets hot and you’ll feel the need to take of the scarf you’ll be still stylish with your necklace.

I really like tipped jackets!!! They remind me classic Chanel jackets and if you think of it, you’ll get the right visual in your mind. I believe that this classic look is always in style…

aviators and wayfarers classic Ray Bans are a must this season...

One item to remove from my wish list!!!!!!!!!
The blue Abigale handbag... Isn't it gorgeous???? Well, I think it is!!!!

blue handbag - Westrags

A great pair of sunglasses is worth every penny. This spring/summer there will be no shortage of stylish frames to choose from.
For those who prefer throwback styles like aviators and wayfarers classic Ray Bans are a must.
Ray Ban Aviators were very popular in the 1960s and the 1980s. This gives them a historical precedent and allows people to classify them as “timeless.” That way when one purchases these sunglasses one can talk about how they were inspired by the fashion and music of these bygone eras.
And so my old ones made a come back...

sunshine on my face… Thank you Friends…

We’ve had an awful weather!!! Immersed in the haze sometimes if we’d have gills (of fish) it would help, for sure.
But Friday was one of those exception days that we had some sunshine moments especially at lunch time.
That felt soooooooo good….

On another note I want to Thank You a lot to my friends fellow bloggers that despite my absence with commenting in your blogs you still come to mine, dropping a note of comfort and making me think that it’s still worth…
Thank you for being my Friends (with a capital letter).

how many pictures are needed…

… to choose just a good modelling one??????

Today I took several pictures and looking to them I couldn’t decide what would be the best.
Here are some that I found interesting.

I also incorporated a bit of violet in my mourning attire, I didn’t feel very comfortable. Thinking about that I couldn’t find the answer to the question I’ve put.
Is it because I feel that’s a bit earlier to introduce it or am I getting Abundant Black Disorder?

Are you asking what Abundant Black Disorder is?
Abundant Black Disorder (ABD) is a common wardrobe dysfunction that’s rarely spoken about. It can occur anytime in a woman’s life, but usually peaks at midlife. The symptoms: a closet full of black clothing and accessories, the irresistible urge to “buy it in black”, no matter what, and the feeling of being too fat or too visible if you wear anything other than black, black, black.
After 40 too much black is notorious for draining the colour from your already lighter, aging skin. Black hides your fabulous 40+ personality, while constantly dressing in black signals, ” I’m old. Don’t notice me. “…Sad!
We can say that having ABD is like going to an ice cream store and always ordering a single scoop of low-fat vanilla ice milk. It’s basic and practical, but it will leave you feeling bored and unsatisfied, sucking the joy from your life, and your looks.
How can you cure ADB? STOP being so terribly predictable. Perk up your looks and liven up your soul with a dash of colour. Promise yourself not to buy anymore black for a very long time.

the day I was the “Birthday Girl”…

The day started, not too early, with Hubby’s Birthday wishes.
I stayed for a while in the upstairs’ living room, with a cup of coffee (I miss those cups, Ricardo) procrastinating, walking around and peeking in my sister’s laptop, at the same time as people downstairs yelled at me asking what I wanted for breakfast.

I went downstairs and they were almost lined up, starting to sing “Happy Birthday to You”.
Lots of smiles, hugs and kisses and of course me being tearful.

I think breakfast had everything one can ask for… and I asked for pancakes with maple syrup, sunny side up… well it had to be vegetarian for me, so I didn’t eat the bacon.

After that we went to see The Jersey Boys a musical show based on the lives of one of the most successful 1960s rock 'n roll groups, the Four Seasons.

I just loved it!!!! It was a tremendous show and all of the performers were brilliant. Its pretty non stop so you don't get much of a chance between one great song and the next to take it all in.
Everything you may have heard about the show is true - it's spectacular, enlivening, and by far and away the best way I can think of to spend just under three hours.

Highlights for me were when Frankie sang “My Eyes Adore You”, “Can't Take My Eyes Off You” and the great TV studio sequences.

Then we went dinner at Milestones, where one can relax and have diner in a semi-casual and stylish environment while enjoying meals inspired from around the world and of course vegetarian, which allowed me to eat the “Fresh Spinach and Tomato Capellini”.

The cake and champagne were waiting for us at home,

where surprise of surprises Hubby presented me with a jewel, a gold necklace with three sapphires, so beautiful and chic. Timeless.

And as they were taking me so many pictures I felt like a star with many paparazzi flashes on me.

I have no words to describe you all the emotions and feelings that crossed my heart.

It was the greatest way to spend a birthday and I want to thank my Sister, her Family and Hubby for all they have given me.

Lots of Love...

Oh and the Birthday Outfit… I haven’t a “proper” picture of it, but you can have a glance here (I was freezing without my coat).
