Fall Shoe Trends For Brides..... A Guest Post

A Guest Post that came my way from Shopping GuestPost, with the contribution of James.

The Seeker

A shoe by itself is an extremely important accessory for any outfit. Even if it just a pair of old sneakers that you are pulling on with your T shirt and jeans, those shoes have to be stylish too! And for a bride, this part of her apparel has to be simply perfect! There was a time when white or ivory was the color of choice for bridal shoes. But with changing times, colors and designs and even the use of various fabrics have emerged strongly on the bridal shoe scene. As with every other aspect of the fashion industry, bridal shoes too go through trends and for this fall, there is some exciting news for brides to be!

There is a resurgence of color coming into the bridal shoes. Pastels seem to be the flavor of the day and the entire gamut of muted and soft shades are finding their way into shoes. Blues, lilacs, pinks – all of them are making bridal shoes prettier this fall. In terms of heels, bridal shoes are showing that they can reach towering heights. The ever popular platform heels have made an appearance and brides are loving the extra height they deliver. For the ultra feminine look, opt for kitten heels. These heels can match almost any kind of shoe so go for them!

Sparkle and glitter are also coming into the bridal shoes this fall. There is no doubt whatsoever that glitter adds that extra bit of oomph to bridal shoes. Choose as much glitter as you want. One of the best looks to wear this fall is the all over glitter, stiletto heel, peep toe heels. You want to make it even more unique? Then add on a satin flower – perhaps your favorite flower or the one that has gone into making your bridal bouquet. Enjoy making a completely unique style statement. Blue shoes are also coming back. Interestingly, blue was the color of choice way back in history!

Fall shoe trends include lots of jewel brooch tones and metal tones in bridal shoes. Silver and gold are the top choices but so is a shimmery blue and other colors too. The shoes are also getting embellished with bows, ribbons and crystal to give them even more class. Some shoe makers have come up with a set of shoes. Something with high heels and lots of add-ons for the actual wedding and something more comfortable and flat heeled for the dancing and partying to follow the wedding.
The ever classy lace look is coming into bridal shoes this fall. It can be a closed high heeled shoe or a peep toe shoe but lace work is showing up big time. Bridal shoes made of lace are also being combined with bows to make them superbly feminine. Nude finish shoes are also becoming popular. Brides are also showing a tendency to buy expensive shoes which they can wear even after the wedding. A rather practical thought process! There is a lot of personalization coming into bridal shoes this fall. Initials of the bride and groom are being laid out in crystal on the heels or even the soles of the shoe.

leave your heels at home this summer.......

You all know that I’m a heels woman, but are you tired of the burn you get from wearing heels? If another day of blisters and ankle pain fills you with dread, then fear not – this summer you can leave the stilettos at home as the flat shoe is back as a hot trend. And although many girls have figured out of the secret of how to walk in heels, those of us who can't master stilettos will be pleased to hear that flats are the sexy footwear style this season.

From ballet flats and canvas trainers like Converse, to brogues and classic Ugg boots, flat shoes are designed primarily for comfort and style. We all know that it’s almost impossible to run for the bus in heels! Flats are made for ease and function, and come in a wide variety of styles to fit even the smartest of occasions.

Flat boots
Flat boots can be casual or dressy, are typically more wearable than heeled boots, and look great with just about anything. Whether you choose boots that are over-the-knee, ankle height or calf length, they’ll look great with a wide variety of outfits – skinny jeans, skirts and dresses included.

Canvas and rubber trainers

These provide optimum comfort for your feet. The shoes are available in designs called low-tops and high-tops, and can be worn as sports shoes or day-to-day shoes. Plenty of stylish designs and colours are available – opt for all black or go funky with vibrant hues of gold and silver.

Ballet pumps
The most common variety of the leather slip-on is the ballet flat. They’re super comfortable, and are perfect to slip on to run to the shops if you’re in a hurry. Pair with slim-fit jeans and a sexy top for a cute on-trend look. Be warned though – they have very little sole, so they’re not ideal for long, strenuous walks.

Canvas flats
The canvas flat is trendy and affordable. Even better, it's easy to pack a few pairs if you're travelling, due to the canvas top. Just push them down and they're almost flat in your suitcase.

Whilst flats are more comfortable and easy to walk in, die-hard heel lovers will be happy to know that there are also some fabulous styles out there this season. But just because your feet are planted firmly on the ground, doesn't mean that you have to turn into someone who has totally lost her fashion sense.

shoes for women that are in fact shoe art.......

I stumbled on Kobi Levi- Footwear Design’s blog and realized that his shoe creations enlarge the imagination with women's footwear.
They are from another world, original, humorous and wonderfully imaginative that I guess they are in fact art.
Probably you already know them and I’m sure his unique shoe designs have certainly already made a "splash" in the fashion world.
However I’m not seeing myself with any of them, because despite I've always had a bit of a shoe fetish, this is definitely taking it to the next level!

kitten heels...

The contentious kitten heel revival is in its early days. And while I have my own reservations the key to this trend is recognising that it's firmly tied to the resurgence in 1950s and 60s ladylike fashion.

And what about you, what are your feelings about kitten heels?????

can style and comfort coexist…?

Well it seems so and you can see it if you head over to www.buyitrighthere.co.uk the online website that is currently focussed on dispelling the myths surrounding Ugg boots but is also expanding to include guides on comfortable fashion in general.

It defends that fashion brings so much more to life if it can be therapeutic and healthy. Often comfort and fashion clash and women sacrifice their sanity to fit into the size 6 dress and live with the blisters from new heels.

This website will also be introducing designer ranges and brands which attempt to balance fashion and comfort without designer prices. They proudly present the Whooga line of Australian merino fleece Ugg boots. Whooga is quickly gaining recognition as a premier alternative sheepskin Ugg boot brand that offers quality and workmanship at a high standard backed by the Whooga warranty.

And they were kind enough to offer my dear readers a $30 credit for the next 2 weeks (starting today) on any total purchase. Just enter the discount code when checking out and you're good to go! Enjoy!

...sweet, sweet shoes...

I’ve been a not so good blogger and I feel it!!!

I can tell you about my recent life; that I spent the last Christmas day’s hours with Mother at the hospital in the ER (thank you, she is better now); that I’ve been living in pants tucked into boots, many shirts layers and heavy coats because for at least tree weeks the weather has been all the time bad (lots of rain, wind and cold); that I’m feeling sick with my stomach hurting; that my cheers to the New Year was made with tea; that I’ve been so busy at the office… but it doesn’t erase the fact that I haven’t been a good blogger and that I’m feeling blogging guilt.

And I don’t know if things will get better for next days. We are planning a trip, for just a week, but always a trip…
More news on next post…

But now something cute and sweet. What woman doesn’t like/love shoes and/or chocolate???
And if we could have them both together…

Lady Gaga and the Alexander McQueen’s shoes…

The big buzz this week has, undoubtedly, been the release of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance video.
It’s all over the blogosphere… and I couldn’t skip it.
The major issue? Gaga wearing Alexander McQueen’s shoes.
When Alexander McQueen suddenly changed the final song of his Spring show last month to play for the first time the Gaga Song it was a sign that something was going to happen…
I thought the lobster-claw shaped "Armadillo" shoes were meant to be in a museum but Gaga can grab the gear straight from the catwalk…
Either you love Gaga or hate her one thing is sure, one can never go on impassive with her.

Lady, I salute you…

close to heaven...

I want to apologize to all my dear readers and blogging friends for my lack of posting and also for being so away of checking your blogs and comment. As well I want to thank all the expressions of concern and affection that many sent me.
Due to some circumstances I’ve been very busy with short time for blogging.

Sister Seeker and her husband arrived, safe and well and I got fantastic gifts which included this gorgeous pair of studded sandals and a fabulous top that I didn’t wear yet.

Meanwhile, we, Hubby and I, came to mainland and now we’re on holidays at a great Mountain SPA called H2otel (I love the name) on Serra da Estrela.

It’s interesting the duality of the islander in me that makes me miss the sea and my inner goat (I’m a Capricorn you know...) which feels the mountain in a special way.

We’re having a great time, being very well treated. Being the only vegetarian for now at the hotel, the chef made me a special menu for the entire week that was taken to my approval.

We’re spending most of our day time at the gym and the pool. The night is for dinner and to spend an enjoyable time on the bar, chatting.

So I think you’ll understand my absence...
However I’ll try to do some posts and go visit you all on the opportunities that I would have.

And I’ll be back soon with a great giveaway!!!! Don’t miss it!!!

For the time being, I leave you with some pictures of the day I arrived and last night outfits.

Take care and enjoy your time the most!!!

YO – 05/18 – look what I’ve found… new shoes…

Some posts ago I’ve told you about my current obsession… shoes.
And I’ve showed you some that were catching my eyes on internet.
As you know this last “shopping season” wasn’t as it was supposed to be and I just had time to see a few things and only bought (in shoes) my Zara’s brown sandals. I passed by that shoes store that I’ve told you about the owner from whom I manage to get my oxfords, if you remember, and imagine what I found…

The black suede fringe t-strap heels that I’ve posted!!!!
And now here they are…. I even wore them on my yesterday’s outfit, because it was such a sunny day…

Aren’t they just gorgeous????

Now I just miss the black metallic cross strap stud heels… Note to myself, maybe if I’ll have a chat with Sister Seeker… lol

Once again I want to thank all my dear readers and blogging friends that gave me so much support on my last post! You’re the best and you all deserve my love!!!!
Thank you!!!!

I’m obsessed with…

Inspired by gorgeous Marian, I decided to talk about one of my present obsessions.
So I’m currently obsessed with… shoes!!!

I have not a collection of shoes, but I’m lucky enough to have a few that are interesting. However a true fashionista knows that shoes are never enough.

I’ve been seeing on the Internet, in some on-line stores such great shoes for Spring/Summer 09.
However most of them don’t ship international, or don’t ship to my country, or if they do the post costs are more expensive than the piece price, or even the price tag is too high for my budget.

Nevertheless I’m showing you a few shoes I’m in love with, these ones from GoJane. I only hope that if I’ll go on my “shopping trip” to mainland I could find something similar to calm my passion.

Favorite Things 2008 - Just a look to a few...

Thanks to the coordination efforts of the lovely and talented Grayburn from Grayburn, a group of bloggers come together and post their favourite things of the past year, 2008.

Well, I am happy to say that I had the opportunity to participate in this event.

It's really hard for me to catch down the choices in order to pick my favourite things of the year.
2008 was an appealing, sore, yet dynamic year for me, a lot of people and things have received the right to enter in my category of favourites.

I feel that I'm doing harm to some great people and things by not talking about them, but it could turn into a boring never ending post.

I could talk about the great people I found through my blog.
I could talk about some fashion trends like the maxi dress, the leather pants, lace, tartan, and so on.
I could talk about some beauty products I discovered like the Chanel nail polish or the Jasmin Noir perfume from Bvlgari.

But I’ve decided to tell you my favourite trends of 2008 in… shoes (may The Despotic Queen of Shoes forgive me)

Gladiator Sandals

There were flats, and then they grew heels, and they grew even more heels, and so on. There were so many versions of gladiators that were produced too. Thus, 2008 was really the year of the gladiators (in terms of shoes). I had my share of gladiators and I’m happy that they are still around even if a year has passed.

Shoes Bright Colours

These couldn’t make me happier, as you know I love (now) colour. While many women rightly argue that bright shades aren't as easy to wear, I'd happily trade off some versatility for a bit of personality.
After a year or two of shoes in neutral shades dominating the market, Spring of 2008 brought us a dizzying array shoes in bright colours. Pink pumps and outrageously orange stilettos were everywhere, but clearly, the footwear gods decided that what we all really needed was a pair of yellow shoes. The trend towards brightly-coloured footwear carried into Fall, as purple shoes became all the rage.

Menswear-Inspired Shoes - Heeled Oxfords

The menswear-inspired footwear trend really started catching Fall/2007, but in 2008 heeled oxfords were hotter than ever.
I felt in love by them and it was a great journey until I finally could have ones.
But I made it. And I’m happy I did.

So, thank you my dear Grayburn from Grayburn for organizing this event.
